Mark Birkett, Chief Executive

Mark began his career in Insurance with a Lloyd's Underwriting Syndicate. After four years in underwriting, he moved into Reinsurance Broking. In over twenty years in the London Market, Mark has gained experience in many classes of business including Marine, Aviation, Bloodstock and Property.

He has established a varied and stable client base and in 2000 he founded International Risk Solutions.

Patrick Greene, Finance Director and Compliance Officer

Pat is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland with more than 20 years experience, mostly in senior financial roles across insurance and UK listed companies. He has spent over 10 years in insurance, primarily at Aon during its major acquisition programme of the late 1990’s.

Kate Sliwinska

Kate joined one of the most successful and largest Marine syndicate at Lloyd’s in the mid seventies and was one of the first few women permitted to work on the underwriting floor.

She was subsequently involved in the high profile investigation and management of latent disease claims (APH) and ‘Names’ litigation that ensued. Prior to joining IRS she was Chief Operating Officer of another Lloyd’s broker, and before that, from 2000 to 2009 she was a board director of all the Berkshire Hathaway Group entities based in London. Kate is also a non-executive director of Equinox Global, a monoline trade credit MGA backed by Lloyd's security.

Dan Naylor

Dan has spent 47 years in insurance with experience across all classes, particularly property, both direct and reinsurance. He was business development director for BMS Group, founded BMS Facultative Ltd and was involved in the restructuring of BMS Group.

John Murphy

John has been working in the London Bloodstock Insurance Market for over 10 years. During that time he has built up numerous contacts throughout the World, and has a depth of knowledge of the thoroughbred industry. He is greatly experienced in adapting policies and placing risks to suit the individual client's requirements.
